Home 2

Description

Started concepting about four hours ago in PS, then about an hour ago, shifted to Ubuntu and started coding from a 'Alpha version' of Home 2, which I made a few days ago which was pretty ugly.

Due to the drop-down images not being cropped properly, the drop-down menu images are sort of off-set in this screen. I'll fix this tomorrow.

From the previous version of Home, the new things are simply the drop-down menus, which show up when you mouse-over them, and a newer, sleeker design.

The date/time was coded using some simple Javascript, while the rest of it was done in basic HTML and CSS. And again, I used Google as the search engine.

Okay, fixed up the offset images. I also darkened the un-highlighted text and made the highlighted item bold to make it stand out.

This is now downloadable. Simply hit the download button and unpack the files to somewhere on your hard drive, open the file in your browser, then enter the browser options and set it as your home page.

Please note, this page currently works for Firefox only (it was developed in Firefox). It'll appear pretty screwed up in Internet Explorer. I'm not sure about other browsers either.

And unfortunately, if you want to change the links, you'll have to do it manually. I've left a couple of comments in the HTML file to help you out. Read those first. Just follow the format for the other links. You can also change the "user@hostname" part to whatever your user name is. Hostname is the name of the computer.

Also, the code for the links part can be confusing. I separated the links into different classes for different parts of the menu, so that each part of the menu can have different background graphics. I don't know how to make a shorter and easier version. If you know a workaround, please feel free to share your knowledge with me. =) Thanks!

P.S. Forgot to change the fonts for Windows users. (=.=*) I've updated it again.

So, is there any way we can download the HTML for ourselves? I know that I would combine it with localhost and make it my Homepage.
